What days are Sessions played on?
All league sessions will be played on Sunday afternoons. Game 1 will start at 12:00 pm.

Will the points champion receive the Decatur Poker League Champion Silver Card Protector?

Yes.  The champion will be determined as the player with the most league points at the end of the November 7th, 2010 session.

Why are there three (3) circuits listed in the schedule above?
A new structure changes for the league will take place in 2010.  Above you will see that the Early Circuit is associated with Sessions 1, 2, and 3; the Mid Circuit is associated with the Sessions 4, 5, and 6; and the Late Circuit is associated with Sessions 7, 8, and 9.

Circuits are mini leagues within the overall league.

The top 2 player earning the most points for only sessions 1, 2, and 3, will be awarded an additional prize for the Early Circuit.  The top 2 player earning the most points for only sessions 4, 5, and 6, will be awarded an additional prize for the Mid Circuit.  The top 2 player earning the most points for only sessions 7, 8, and 9, will be awarded an additional prize for the Late Circuit.  A player must be present for 2 out of 3 sessions, or 4 out of 6 games in the respective Circuit to qualify for the additional prize for that circuit.  This allows a player to earn an additional prize, if he/she is unable to play enough games throughout the year to qualify for season prizes.  Circuit winners don't dictate who the player of the year is.  The player of the year or DPL champion is still determined by the player who has the most league points at the end of the November 7th, 2010 session.

Will a player be allowed to remove his or her worst 1, 2, 3, or 4 games for the season?
No.  All scores count, no worst games are thrown out.   All players should be aware that all scores count toward their total league points.   It is not fair to take points away from a player that showed up and played an event.

If a player expects to arrive late for a game, can that player phone ahead and ask to be entered into the game?
Yes.  A player will be allowed to call and notify one of the DPL Committee members that he/she will be present at the game, but will be late.  The player will be given chips and a card will be drawn for that player's seat.  The player's chips will be blinded out until the player arrives, up to 7:00 pm for Saturday games and 1:00 pm for Sunday games.   If it is 7:00 pm or 1:00 pm (Saturday or Sunday) and the late player has not yet arrived, the late player's remaining chips will be removed from the table and the player will receive no points.  If player arrives before 7:00 pm or 1:00 pm (Saturday or Sunday), the player will sit and continue play with what chips are remaining for that player.

If a player arrives late for a game, can that player get in via late registration?
Yes.  A player only has until the end of the 1st blind level to be permitted to get into the game via late registration.   The player will be given the starting chip amount minus the sum of the 1st blind level small and big blind.  The player will then be seated at a table that is short any number of players or will be seated at any table, if tables already have an equal number of players.  If tables have an equal number of players, the player will randomly draw a card to determine what table he/she goes to.

Should the 25 point appearance bonus be raised or lowered?
No.  The appearance point value will stay at 25 points for a player for every game that the player is in attendance.

Will there be a player roster for 2010 Poker League?
Yes an No.  The league is only allowing a small number of new players at the beggining of the season.  This will allow the league to asses how large the roster will be for the 2010 season.  This will stay in affect until the league roster gets to 20 full time players.  Past DPL members will be contacted to be removed from the active roster, if they don't communicate that they want to be part of the league. This will make way for new players to potentially become new members.

Will the league allow new members/players?
Yes.  New players will be allowed, but only if referred by a DPL member "in good standing"; and if the DPL doesn't currently have 20 full time players.

A member in good standing is classified as a member that has played in 1/2 of the past 12 rolling sessions. For example, a member that has played in only 3 sessions, is not a member in good standing.

New player referrals need to be submitted to the DPL committee members (Keith, John, and Phillip) prior to the player coming. Once the committee has agreed to allow the new player to come, the following needs to happen from the new player and the DPL member referring the new player:

a. A member referring a new player needs to inform the new player that he/she will be rated at their first DPL appearance. If the present league members feels that this new player is ok to continue as a member, the player will be officially welcomed to the league and will be allowed to continue attending as a new member. However, if multiple present league members feel that the new player is not right for the league for concrete reasoning, the new player will not become a new member of the league and the DPL member that referred the new player will be asked to inform the new player that he/she will not become a new member of the DPL. Since the DPL is a private league, it has the right to reject membership.

b. A new player coming to make his/her first DPL appearance needs to conduct himself/herself in a professional manner. Poker is a game of skill and luck. The new player needs to remember that poker is just a game and every poker player should know that bad beats happen. A new player will be looked at and rated by all league members that are present at the new player's 1st DPL appearance. If the new player gets a favorable rating from the present league members, the new player will be officially welcomed to the league and will be allowed to continue attending as a new member. However, if a new player gets a less than favorable rating from the present league members, for concrete reasoning, the new player will not become a new member of the league and will be informed of this by the DPL member that referred them.
