ESPN 1050 Free Poker Challenge 3

     ESPN 1050, The Fan, and Sliderz Bar and Grill are hosting the ESPN Free Poker Challenge 3. This challenge is every Wednesday at Sliderz Bar and Grill on Route 36, just east of the airport. There is no charge to play, but you have to be atleast 21. The winner of the finals night on July 7, will get a paid entry into a qualifying tournament for the HPT Main Event in Gary, IN.

      After three weeks, two (2) DPL members have qualified for the finals on July 7th, Steve Larry and Mike Patterson. Steve Larry finished 3rd in week 3 and Mike Patterson finished 7th in week 3. Week 3 had a field of 66 players and thus they took the top 7 (10%) players to the finals, along with a player who won the last chance table, and two lucky players who eliminated the mystery bounty players.  Mike was low on chips after the break and flopped a flush to triple up and build some chips to get to the final table. I had not watched many hands that Steve played, but for him to finish 3rd, he must of taken down a few key hands. op 4 and finish 3rd overall. Week 3 had four (4) DPL members playing in the field of 66, Dad (John), and myself were the other two.

     I'm uncertain as to how many DPL members played in Week 1, but Week 2 had two (2) DPL members playing in the field of 56. Dad (John) and I played, but we were both unable to catch a break and make it into the top 10%.

     Neuhoff Media / WDZ The Fan has brought back the "ESPN 1050 Free Poker Challenge".   The host location is "Sliderz Bar and Grill". Signups are at 6:00 pm and shuffle up and deal is at 7:00 pm every Wednesday night starting May 19, 2010 and running for 8 weeks. The first 7 weeks give players a chance to earn points and the 8th Wednesday is the final night, where someone will win a entry into a qualifying tournament to the Heartland Poker Tour.
